Award

The 'For Health and the Patient' award was established in 2020 at the initiative of the Institute for Patients' Rights and Health Education, the Patients' Ombudsman and the National Health Fund.

About the award

The prize is awarded by the Chapter each year as part of the World Day of the Sick celebrations in three categories.

Volunteering and community activities

In this way, the organisers wish to honour foundations and associations that stand out for their professionalism and effectiveness in acting for the benefit of patients in the three areas indicated.

The award is also intended to recognise the efforts of third sector representatives, their commitment and activity. To showcase interesting activities, worthy of imitation, putting the well-being of patients first.

President of the National Health Fund

Healthcare management expert, sociologist, MBA. Graduate of: University of Wrocław, Wrocław Academy of Economics, Lazarski University, Wielkopolska Higher School of Socio-Economics and a doctoral student at the Faculty of Health Sciences in the Department of Medical Law at Poznań Medical University.

Bartłomiej Chmielowiec

Patient Ombudsman

Patient Ombudsman, legal adviser, formerly Director at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration. He has also worked in the Office of the Prime Minister and the Office of the Financial Ombudsman. He has held the office of Patient Ombudsman since 30 October 2017.

Revd Dr Arkadiusz Nowak

President of the Institute for Patients' Rights and Health Education

Chairman of the Council of Patients' Organisations under the Minister of Health. He is a co-author of strategic documents on state policy on HIV/AIDS and other civilisation diseases.
